Dr. Neil Kirk Hillier

My research interests are focused on chemical ecology and insect-host relationships. As such, my interests in cannabis propagation are twofold. I am interested in testing and developing novel, sustainable methods for management of insect and mite pests of cannabis using modern behavioral and electrophysiological techniques to assay responses of pests to crop protectants. As well, I am also interested in the chemical ecology of cannabinoids and terpenoids produced by cannabis plants as a mechanism for management of insect pests. This work includes chemical identification and quantification of key compounds, as well as the assaying of their behavioral and physiologicak effects on a range of species.
